The mummified corpse of a baby was discovered in Peru, near the capital Lima. More than 1,000 years ago the baby was put to rest on a barren Peruvian hillside. It was among dozens of well-preserved mummified skeletons found by archaeologist in the area. The experts were hired by the Government to investigate the area prior to the building of a new road.” By now we have over 40 mummified bodies, and the number grows every day. Given the proximity to the city and the tradition of looting in the area, we are very surprised that this is mostly intact,” said archaeologist Guillermo Cock.
