Nexus 6, the 6-inch (technically 5.96) monster phablet, is finally, officially here. The Nexus 6, like its predecessors before it, will be the first device in the world to ship with Android’s new operating system, Lollipop. It’s the purest vision of what an Android phone should be.
Release date and price
Google has announced that the Nexus 6 will be available to pre-order in the UK in November and go on sale the same month. We’re sure Google will announce a specific date soon.
Strangely, there’s no pricing information yet and this might be because Google is set to increase the cost of its flagship smartphone. The Nexus 5 costs £299 but the Nexus 6 will supposedly cost a lot more. The Verge claims it will cost $649 off contract.
Specs and features
The Nexus 6 has been built by Motorola for Google and looks very similar to the Moto X. It has a ‘contoured aluminium frame’ which houses a 5.96in Quad HD screen (493ppi). Google’s tag line for the phone is “more room to explore”.
