Keith Urban sings “To Love Somebody” by the Bee Gees, moves original musician to tears

Most of you reading this probably agree that the original version of a song is generally better than any rendition. But then there are those rare occasions when the rendition is as good as the original, if not better.
In the case of any rendition, it’s important that the singer manages to do the original song justice, and I think it’s safe to say that Keith Urban did just that when he performed his own rendition of the hit song ‘To Love Somebody’ originally released by the Bee Gees.
The stakes were even higher in his case, as one of the original members of the Bee Gees was right there in the audience and got to listen to him perform one of their greatest hits from back in the day.
The Bee Gees served as a great inspiration for many of the top singers today, and Keith Urban is one of them, as him himself admitted before the beginning of his performance.
What’s more, Keith actually lived close-by to where the Bee Gees brothers lived for a while, and that had a powerful impact on him: “They were living about 100 miles from where I grew up with my family and truly, that sort of thing makes your dreams seem a little bit closer,” he said.
