Two twin sisters in Britain have been fighting with anorexia for the past 20 years.
Maria and Katy Campbell were only 16 years old when they heard their father saying this to their mother: “The girls are starting to turn into women, huh? They already have hips”. Dad’s innocent statement triggered the twin’s obsession to being thin.
Unfortunately, their disease only got worse in time. Now, at the age of 33, Mary and Katy Campbell struggle more than ever. “I lost everything because of it: my life, my home, my job and even my hair,” says Maria. Although hospitals forcibly feed them through tubes, as soon as they are discharged, the two sisters resume their old habit of not eating.
