Each year, for Memorial Day, everyone in the United States gets the day off to celebrate. That’s something most people know. But why exactly does everyone get the day off?
Well, Memorial Day is actually federal holiday for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. I’m sure you already knew that (wink, wink). But believe it or not, there are a lot of people who have no idea what the day signifies.
Several of these people were featured in this Memorial Day Quiz video by The O’Reilly Factory. The reporter went down on a beach and asked beachgoers who were having a good time celebrating Memorial Day several questions about basic facts about United States recent history.
How many questions did they get right? Well, not many. For some reason, many people just blamed a whole lot on the French and on China, and confused the Koreans with the Japanese. And the Chinese.
Sure, their answers are not going to help them achieve a perfect score on any history exam ever. But before you pass any judgments, take a second and answer this: How many questions would you have gotten right?
